Practice Makes Proficiency

Essence Extractor:
Don’t overload your working memory, practice to make automatized information.  
Vocabulary Vitalizer:
Practice- continuing to work at something that you’ve already mastered. 
Knowledge Transfer- seeks to organize, create, capture or distribute knowledge and ensure its availability for future users.  The transfer of knowledge between organizational development and organizational learning. 
Drilling- to impart (knowledge) by strict training, discipline, or repetition.
Automatic Process- performed a continuous action, operation, or series of changes taking place in a definite manner from force of habit or without conscious thought
Basic Skill- writing words.
Advanced Skill- writing a sentence or story

  1. First of all, I love your creative title! The more we practice something, the easier it becomes to do because we are more proficient in it. I wish my students took this title to heart!! :)

    I also liked your definition of drilling. Drilling may sound really boring but I have successfully used certain drilling exercises that worked really well in my class and for me.

  2. I agree with Alex about your titles...I am not that creative. I like how you brought up basic skills and advanced skills. There is a different and everyday students, and even teachers, are using these skills.

  3. I totally agree with pretty much everyone cause everyone seems to agree at this point. I really was shocked when the book refered to drilling as a good thing but after I read further and they explain it made alot of sense, its just practice, and everyone know practice makes perfect or proficency in this situation.
